Very nice hotel, and friendly staff, the room area is acceptable, the balcony is good view, also the breakfast is good, I had a great time in this hotel... the hotel is very near from metro station so I think the best way to arrive to this hotel by Metro,... ++

Personally, this place ticked all the boxes. It was close to Athens main railway station & all Metro lines. It was quiet in the mild, balmy, evening. Breakfast included was more than satisfactory for the day ahead. Staff were friendly, courteous & v helpful; football on big screen TV; baggage storage facility available; rooms were ideal, iron available. Great value price; I travelled Europe with Interrail and this was by far the best hotel I used. Fellow travellers, in Athens choose Socrates. Bon Voyage... ++

Excellent location! It is right next to Larissa Station so it is very easy to take the train from the airport to the hotel as it is not even a block away. It is also next to the national train line (which is right at Larissa Station....just on the other side of the street) which makes it very easy to access other cities from this location. The breakfast was all you can eat and the rooms were warm and clean. There was even a refrigerator. The staff was very kind and helpful. They provide you with a map of the city which also has the metro lines on it. I highly suggest getting a trip pass for the metro so you can go anywhere you like in the city. Ermou st. is the best place to shop for clothes FYI. There is also a laundromat about 4 blocks from Hotel Socrates which was also very convenient for us. Would stay again!…... ++
